First Track days

Hi Guys,

So Ive just bought a mark one NA Eunos Roadster about 6 weeks ago and the third day I had it i took it to Brands hatch for a track day. I changed the oil and front pads and discs and rear pads and I got some good feedback too. It was an absolute mega day so ive decided to do a few more.

The tyres went off quite quickly so I bought myself some Rota Grids 15/8 rims (or 15/7.5 I cant remember which) and running 195 yokohama Paradas at a slight stretch. This is the only mod I have done so I am looking forward to trying it at Bedford track day on bank hol monday and pembrey on 3/9. I also resprayed in in my garage (1st time doing that)and installed vinyl speed stripes for 10 extra bhp.

My question is what else should I do to prepare properly for these track days Ive only done the one at brands and it was great fun and am now looking t take it a bit more seriously. I have some tuition sorted so im talking about mods to the car only.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Welcome to the club and the trackday bug.

We specialise in track preparation so can help you.  If not done already, you could do with uprated brake pads/fluid and the car lowering/aligning for starters

Give me a call for a chat about it

Cheers

Eddy

Roll bar, seat and harness is a good start. Mods can be a gradual thing as time and money permits.

just have fun.

I also changed gearbox and diff oil (mine had never been done looking at the treacle that came out of both!!

Simple job - but worth it.

Alignment is a must

In a similar boat myself. Bought my son a 1990 Eunos and decided to track it. Turns out it had a lot of very useful upgrades already fitted

This is his website showing some of the preparation and action on the day: http://ethancollingridge.com/MX5/diary/2016/09/index.php

Booking next track day as soon as we have done the water pump and camshaft timing belt.
