My Mk2 has the appropriate hole where a cabin brace is fitted to a Mk1 but it does not have the captive nut. I have been told that there is a hole in the side of the seat belt mounting struction that will allow access to attach a nut underneath. Is this correct. If so, to save me taking all the trim apart at this time, can anyone tell me the exact location of this hole. If possible, some photo’s would be helpful.
If the seatbelt tower structure is like the NA/Mk1, then they are referring to the access gained by removing the trim and the seat belt assembly.

The Mk2 shell was improved such that the brace bar was no longer needed. Under the plastic, the brace bar is a rather unimpressive looking 1" wide, 3-4mm thick, steel strip. Can’t see it being worth the bother. Because you don’t have a captive nut, the seatbelt tower trim needs to be removed, then you fit the bar, then you have to cut the trim to fit around the brace bar, and you are going to end up with the same rather untidy looking trim as this Mk1:

Thanks AT.
As you say, it doesn’t seem to be worth it and I certainly don’t want to mess about with the trim.

Peter.
