Regarding fitting a new 12 Volt battery to a 2017 1.5ltr ND.
The car is on 30K miles and has the original battery, so think it may be time to change it before I get caught out.
Is there any specific routine to go through prior to and after fitting the the new battery. Will the car lose any settings?
Nothing special/specific I’d say.
Workshop approach is here. Have a browse so you’re familiar before starting.
I disconnected mine twice recently ND1, nothing of note to be bothered about apart from the usual safety precautions around battery removal. Unlike the NC, traction control reset and maybe ECU relearning, it’s just turn the key and go upon reconnecting.

Batteries are relatively cheap so a new one every few years is a good strategy. You won’t know what you have avoided but that a small price to pay.
There is an awful lot of stuff that depends on a good battery and a lot of curious stuff caused by one that is ‘iffy.
