Fitting the NC Ultra Racing Strut brace - help please!

  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ Fitting the Ultra Racing front Strut brace.

Hi all,

Came to fit the ultra racing strut brace today and found that it fouls pretty poorly against the OEM sport mounting bracket. I’ve taken that out as per the photo but now realised that I really don’t think that the gap left behind is OK!

Any advice please? Is there a bracket that is non-sport and therefore doesn’t have the offending studs the OEM brace fits to?

Short of cutting off the brackets - not sure what else you can do.
Do the instructions not mention how to avoid the brackets ?

EDIT - this looks like a non strut brace bulkhead plate

Put the bracket back on and if the screws are in the way bend the part of the bracket where the screws are positioned or dremmel them out. you don’t need them screws anymore.

Ta muchly both. Found a standard bracket on the cheap-bay and it’s arriving tomorrow.

Did you need longer bolts for anything? I’ve ordered a non-sport (standard) bulkhead bracket like you did but seeing some things around which mention needing longer bolts for fitting.

Yep definitely.

4x bolts needed. I think I used 25mm length which was plenty. They don’t foul anything on the backside. I’ve green arrowed their location. It will be obvious once you’re in there.

Make sure you get wide flanged bolts so they have plenty of width to grab onto the brace.
