Hi, today I tried to fit the Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace to my 2018 ND1 1.5L which has only covered 2200 miles. After an hour I gave up as I found it impossible to locate it as it fouls the top of the exhaust pipe and/or the anti roll bar. I had the car on axle stands under the car sills. Has anyone fitted this part and, if so, did you remove any parts eg the exhaust rear box or anti roll bar to get it to locate? I can’t see why it would make any difference but has anyone used ramps so the suspension remains under compression. No instructions came with the bar and although the method of fitting seemed self evident it has not proved to be the case. Thanks for any advice.
I can’t see any products for the ND on the Ultra Racing website, have you got a link?
I”ve looked here…
Hi,
Here is a link to the suppliers site.
Plus another link.
If you look at the reviews on MX5Parts there is only one and it says that it does not fit and was returned.
I saw the same review on MX5 Parts and it subsequently fell off my list of potential additions!
I’d call MX5 Parts to ask their advice: 02392 644588
I also might contact Ultra Racing directly, and see what they say:

Thanks. Now spoken with suppliers who say you have to drop the exhaust to fit it. That was not self evident. Apparently the manufacturers don’t deem it necessary to provide a few simple lines of fitting instructions.
That is poor.
Are you going to persevere or is it going back?
I’m a bit under the weather at the moment but when I’m OK I’ll try to simply lower the rear exhaust box and see it that creates the space to get the bar in. Fingers crossed.
Is it like this one ?
Yes that’s the exact one. It looks as if it can be fitted by feeding it above the exhaust pipe - but it can’t. The space available is simply not sufficient. I shall try it by temporarily lowering the exhaust silencer. Hopefully it will then fit and also clear the exhaust pipe when the silencer is refitted. In my opinion all this should have been made clear by simple instructions being included.
Tried fitting after lowering exhaust pipe and it still would not fit. Returned for refund which was promptly given.
Just out of interest is that the mountings do not line up or is that you can not physically get it into place?
You can get it more or less in place but it’s then angled slightly which means it’s not possible to line up the mountings onto both the outer bolts. You can get one end on with difficulty and just get one turn on the nut to hold it in place. However it is then impossible to get the other end over the bolt at the other end. It’s a mystery to me as you would think these are all made on a standard jig.
