Flat Battery - Laserline Alarm/immobiliserwill not arm

Just bought a 1991 MX5, which is proving great fun to drive. I do not know why I did not do it earlier.

I have a laserline T101V3 fob and a 904 alarm module. I recently had a flat battery (I left the side lights on all night) which meant that the car needed a jump start. Since this, the alarm and immobiliser does not arm which means that the central locking and motion sensors are also not working, which is odd as before this mishap, the car would arm itself after 30 seconds of the engine being switched off and the keys being removed from the ignition. I have seen some info which says that there may be a battery in the alarm module itself but I am having difficulty finiding a user manual to learn how to install one, if indeed there is one. I have tried to sync the fob and mobule in the way that it has been suggested in other forums but nothing seems to work.

Please help!!

Try charging your battery up fully, with a battery charger for at least 24 hours and see if that improves things.

Have you checked the inline fuses to the alarm(surge)???try pulling them out for 30 seconds and butting back in this may reset it so you can go with the start up proceedure of arming up the alarm.

Hope this may help

Thanks for the help. I left the car on idling for an hour and checked the charge. it was ok. I will try your idea and put the battery on trickle charge. [^o)]

I just tried your suggestion with one change. I thought about your idea and adapted it a little and unhitched the battery and left it alone for 15 minutes…and guess what it worked. Many thanks for your advice. [:D][:D]
