Folding chairs

It’s handy to have a couple of folding chairs in the boot for club picnic runs, such as the one we are doing tomorrow.  I’ve been through our well worn collection of collapsible furniture acquired over about 40 years and none of it fits in a Mk4 boot.

Just been to Millet’s more in hope than expectation and lo, they are selling these ‘Eurohike Lowland’ chairs at 2 for £10. (That link is the Amazon listing BTW, at £12 each delivered).

Frankly I was looking for something a bit lighter and even smaller, space being at a premium, but for a fiver each and when we don’t need to eke out every last bit of space these are fine.

They are a bit smaller and lighter than the typical similar style ones with  arms and a can holder, and shorter when folded, but they are actually more comfortable (or at least less uncomfortable).  Weight limit 90Kg (I can just get under that).

Not a very exciting post I know, but I do like a bargain and they’ll do for now.

More expensive but smaller packed

THESE

I went to an air show with my next door neighbour and we both bought Collapsable Chairs.

I’ve got to admit, they did live up to their name.

Search on Google for Folding Garden Chair.

We’ve got two similar ones, one with a tote bag and the other with a flip up backrest but both fit in the boot well of a Mk4. OK, so they are quite small and more like a balancing perch, but if you can get your backside in an MX5 then you won’t overhang these chairs too much.
