I am the first to admit that I have big feet (somewhere around size 12!) and this is causing me annoyance when operating the clutch as I regularly hit the foot rest alongside the clutch pedal (should have bought an auto?).
Anyway, removal of the left foot isn’t an option and neither is removal of the clutch pedal so can I remove the foot rest?
It was the first thing I did with my Mk3 Plus Adjusting the point at which the clutch bites. For me it made the Difference between an acceptable drive and an awkward and uncomfortable drive
We removed ours in the first week of ownership. I’ve got big feet too, but Lynne is only a size 5 and she found it annoying too. Well worth the five minutes to remove.
Known as ‘pixie boots’ they can attract a degree of fun and derision but they are very good for driving in so we never cared and took it all on the chin.
Job done! 2 minutes with my baby socket set and off came the plastic monstrosity that is the footrest. I presume that there are aftermarket options available too.
