Front Airbag crash sensor, should I replace?

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC2.5 2009 UK RHD 2.0
  2. I’m based near: London
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Airbag error

Any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated.

I have the airbag warning light flashing 4-2 indicating front Airbag Crash Sensor issues so I had my mechanic put the computer on the car to see what the error code is in more detail and found the following errors only, does this look like a new front crash sensor is needed to you?
B104D - Front Crash Sensor Cross Link to Another Sensor, and
B2856 - Airbag ECU Version Conflict with Front Crash Sensor Mount.
No other codes.
Any info before I pull the front of the car off would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
Richard.

First off you could have a twiddle with the under seat connector block connections. These have been a cause of airbag fault showing in the past, part the connector block and clean up the connection pins. Sorry say which seat, both need checking I guess as a connection runs one to the other.

Edit…
Noticed you have a thread up relating to this airbag problem, ignore the advice I’ve given it seems liked you’ve been there.

Thank you. Fingers crossed it’s the front sensor, £20 gets me a replacement and someone else seems to have fixed it like that with the same codes. Much appreciated!
