Front fog lights?

I’.proud owner of my 4th mx5.  Have a lovely special edition icon 2016…but I’m confused it looks like it has front fog lights but can’ seem to find switch/knob/ dial. Can anyone shed any light add to if the have them? And if do where do i switch then on

Confused

Not being the owner of a late model mx5 I’m only guessing but could it be on the light stalk?

In fact looking at Google images it looks to be a circular switch inboard of the normal light switch.

I believe that switch is for rear fog lights. I can find no mention of front fog lights in the manual?

the front fogs could be driving lights and should come on with headlights perhaps  https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t58457_ds708060

Thanks. All on the stick are the rear fog lights and no mention in manual.  When I look at front of can i can see a diagonal strip containing 5/6 bulbs… but no switch bixarre

Daytime running lights, my guess. Turn the car on, leave the lights off and have another look. Should have a strip of LED lights there which come on with ignition.

Picture courtesy of Google Images;

Diagonal strip of lights would be the Drls.Activate with ignition on during daylight.

And the handbrake off - that is why you can never normally see them on.

With LED headlights you don’t need front fog lights.

That’s an interesting point you make about handbrake off, never heard that read that before. Mine DLR’s work fine with handbrake on or off. Why with LED lights do you not need fog lights can you explain a bit more please?

Re Brake…

From page 4-70 of the owners manual…

Running Lights

Some countries require moving vehicles to have their lights on (running lights) during the daytime.
The running lights turn on automatically when the vehicle starts moving.
They turn off when the parking brake is operated or the selector lever is shifted to the P position (automatic transmission vehicle).

Re fog lights…

I can’t find the reference now - but I am sure that I read that dipped LED headlights provide just as much suitable lighting as standard fog lights.

Firstly thank you for the reply. That explains it then.

John

My Golf has LED dipped lighting and on saturday night in fog, the fog lights fitted were a really useful aid in seeing the road clearly.

So my vote goes to having fogs with LEDs
