FRONT STEEL BRAKE PIPES

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __2.0 ND
  2. I’m based near: __Edinburgh
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Replacement steel brake pipes.

Frony near side and offside brake pipes heavily corroded.

Is it possible to buy new pipes ready made or do they have to be fabricated to suit.

Many Thanks

David

You can still buy some of the ones for NA and NB, so I’d guess that ND ones are available.

These?

Thanks for assistance

Local garages would not make a new copper pipe even with the old one as a template as it was too convoluted. ( Front offside ) from abs pump to rubber flex pipe.

After some enquiries I found that hydraulic pipe company Pirtek could fabricate flexible steel pipes ( not cheap ) but had no option.

These were easier to fit as the pipe is between engine and bulkhead with very limited space to push back into the clips. Replacing the heatshield was a bit tricky but finally all fitted and working ok.

There used to be a guy called Dan at dBpower who can have hel performance lines made. I replaced my whole cars lines on my Nissan with braided stainless jobs. Don’t know if he’s still about…
