- My model of MX-5 is: NB '98
- I’m based near: Paddock Wood, Kent.
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Definitive info if front upper wishbones are unique to an NB Eunos. I’m getting conflicting information and some scary prices. Some help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone knows…they will.
Good luck bud.
As far as i am aware, the NB models (NB & NBFL) all use the same upper arms.
The only difference that i can think of is if the vehicle has ABS or not, even then its only a bracket for the wiring to clip to, easily sorted with some cable ties so it doesn’t rub.
If the ball joint needs replacing, then aftermarket ones do fit, however, they are usually loose so will need 3 small welds applying to secure them to the arm.
Thanks for the reply. I couldn’t see why a right hand drive car, albeit an imported Eunos, would use different unique wishbones. It’s an early NB without ABS and, as you said, would only have a small bracket to attach any wiring. should I now feel confident in buying new upper wishbones from the internet at around £75 a pop?
Regards
Les.
Another question. Are they handed because of the ABS bracket or are they really left and right.
It would be astonishing if they weren’t ‘handed’. And not because of the ABS fitting.
They should be fine to fit then. As far being handed, that only applies to the ABS arms i think
I’ve just spoken to MX5 Parts. He confirms that NON ABS front upper wishbones are NOT handed so, two of the same will do.
Thanks
perhaps see some of you at the end of the month at the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood.
Wishbones arrived today having finally sorted the right ones. Booked the car to have both upper and lower arms fitted in just over a week’s time. I hope it will sort out some minor problems.
