Front wings on a mk1 - recommendations?

  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Front wing replacement

It’s time to replace the two front wings on my Merlot. It would appear that it’s most sensible in each case to buy a new panel (unless a used one in great condition turns up), but there seem to have been some different options mentioned over the years on this forum.

Can anyone advise which is preferable? I can afford to wait a little while for an option to come back in stock if it’s advisable, rather than make do with an inferior product immediately available.

Any chance they can be repaired?

One was bashed in and definitely needs replacing. The other has rusted away at the point where it meets the bumper, so sadly will need replacing in its entirety as far as I can see, since there don’t appear to be repair panels for that section. Good thought though.

You should email autolink about it. They don’t list everything they have.

None in stock at Autolink, and none expected either, unfortunately.

Always new wings, second hand ones are often rusty

Also try mazda, I need to get 2 for mine on a mk2.5, Mazda in Reddich can get them within 3 weeks but £280 each, so will wait for mx5 parts to get them back in stock.
