FUEL FILTER

 HELP

Have been servicing my mazda for the last year and thought I better change the Fuel Filter.

Got the car up on axle stands removed plastic cover (as said on other threads)  No fuel filter (unless I’m going mad).  Tried the passenger side incase I had misread, No Fuel Filter??

Car is a 1999 1.6 Mk2 Silver Blue Mohair Hood

Can someone explain in detail exactly where the fuel filter is please, as its driving me mad.

Thanks for the help

This is where it is on a Mk1, just forward of the rear nearside wheel, above a plastic cover. Not sure if this helps on a Mk2 tho’.

Thanks for the reply, I will try and have a look later, again!!!

Nearside, is that pasenger side or drivers side?

cheers

Steve

Sorry my mistake I meant off side, that is the drivers side.  Must have been half asleep.[:$]

Hi

I’m thinking of inspection/replacing the fuel filter and after reading STHT (Dec 08 I think) it says you have to depressurise the fuel system and shows you a picture of the connection you have to seperate, thing is where is this connection? can you help

Many Thanks

Paul

It’s the fuel pump relay, assuming the car in your avatar is the car you are going to be working on (NB pre-facelift?) The the fuel pump relay is on a bracket behind the dash above the bonnet release. It’ll has a 6 pin connector but only 4 connectors are used. Look for 2 white/blue, red/blue and red/white wires.

Thanks R R much appreciated[Y]
