Fuel Pressure Regulator Location

Hi All,

I recently bought a Mk2 1.8l 2000, and have been looking to give it a bit of a clean up and service.

I was trying to find the FPR the other day, but can’t seem to find it! its not in the engine bay where all the documentation states it should be (see pic) so I thought maybe it is in the fuel tank but it is not either.

I’ve followed the feed line from the fuel pump under the car to where it changes to a rubber hose and feeds up through the charcoal canister straight into the fuel rail. Does anyone have any ideas/am i missing something super obvious?

It’s the vent line from the tank that connects to the charcoal canister.

As far as I know, the fuel pressure regulator for MK2 / 2.5 is in the tank.

Incidentally, you can access parts diagrams for various years here:

Thanks for replying Mister G. Yeah I thought it must have been there too, but definitely not on the fuel pump assembly either, just a straight pipe on the return

If it’s in the engine bay, it should be on the front of the fuel rail:
