Fuse box, very worried!

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC
  2. I’m based near: Milton Keynes
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Fuse box wiring damage!

Came home tonight after a 2 hour drive and thought the car seemed warm even though the gauge was on halfway as normal. Checked the engine and the engine fan did not seem to be spinning. Decided to see if it had blown a fuse and after opening the fuse box, I saw what looks like damage to one of the cables, like it has been at a high heat and melted. Has anyone seen this before, could this be why the fan is not spinning?

Not getting any EML on and the car runs well apart from what seems like heat.

Apparently its grease

Fools a few members, posts asking why. I had to read a few posts to realise it’s some sort of grease not some sort of burning, why, can’t remember why it’s there?

The 2.0 NC engine does run very hot even after a short journey so it’s normal. I tend to prop open the bonnet for half an hour afterwards just to help it cool down.
