My, new to me, 1991 Roadster has a set of G¦A¦B Super suspension units fitted.
Towards the lower end of the units is an adjuster wheel, with 8 numbered positions and the letters S and N. Turning to S takes you to the lower numbers. I am guessing that this has something to do with the suspension ‘damping’ effect but I’ve no real knowledge. All four units have the wheel set at 4. If I turn them down to a lower number, does this give a softer ride, or does it have a different effect?

I’ve looked on the G¦A¦B website, but these units are not listed, so no help there.
KYB made these shocks under licence from GAB; so they are basically the same as AGX shocks. The lower the number, the lower the rebound setting (softer). I think at the softest setting these are about 95% of original stock Showa shocks. I assume your car is on lowering shocks; if you turn the shocks right down, on lowering springs, the ride will become crashy on back roads. These are likely to be quite old.
Thanks for your replies. The car does not appear to have been lowered, so I’ll try turning the suspension units down by one notch and see if I notice any difference (when its a bit warmer). The car was imported in 2000, and I suspect that the units were fitted in Japan so I’ve a fairly good idea of their age.
