Love the mods you are doing, I am doing more or less the same to my own Sport Recaro.
I am fitting the footwell lights at the moment and I was wondering if you can remember which wires / connector plug you connected into when fitting yours. The instructions from Mazda aren’t that clear or maybe my car has different coloured wiring.
I had similar issues because of the instructions as you said, i sent an email to someone else clarifying this. I’m out at the moment, but when i get home i’ll post this for you.
RHD uses the electrical connection block C-13 only.
C-13 is block 4 in the picture above, on this block you are looking for the thin black & blue wire which you will connect the red wire from the harness to (there is a thicker black & blue cable on this block not to be used). I found block 1 & 3 could be undone easily, but block 2 & 4 I couldn’t undo, so with them in-place the thin black & blue cable you are looking for on block 4 is in the section of holes nearest the front of the car, fourth along from the wing of the car.
The white cable from the harness connects to the green cable at the end of the same block on the same row (the cable furthest from the wing of the car).
Hope this helps, if you need anything clarifying just let me know.
Thank you for posting this, I really appreciate it. This is what makes this forum great. I am not sure how long it would have taken me, using the Mazda instructions, to work out it was block 4.
I am about to head out to the unheated garage to do this, just as the temperature drops to minus 4 degrees outside - typical.
So I’ve got a few more things for the car, took a bit of doing this one but I managed to get the genuine boot net & indoor car cover shipped over from the US via a friend in Utah (for some reason they seem to be US only parts?):

I finally got the US spec reflectors from MX5Parts and have changed the rears over for the red set which should hopefully look a lot better (I can’t really tell as I can’t roll the car out of the garage now it’s on the tyre savers):

I’ve not driven the car for 3 weeks now and am iching for some roof down driving, especially when we have the sunny winter days! Its going to be a long wait until the end of next month / beginning of March.
I’ve done a few more updates to the car, 15mm spacers all around, 6 Piston Wilwoods (car will be going back to have 4 pistons on the rear later in the year)
I went for a big drive out at the weekend (120 ish mile loop of North Wales), the weather was ‘supposed’ to be reasonably dry, well that didn’t work out. I ended up with the roof up the majority of the drive and struggling for grip every which way so lots of sideways action, the Wilwoods did help massively keeping it in check before each corner but I’d have much preferred a dry run.

I gave this a good paint correction polish and wax this week after the dealer kindly scratched the hell out of the lacquer coat cleaning it (even though I asked them not to!)
Just read this whole thread, what a cracking job you have done. Well done sir. I’m currently waiting for my new ND to be delivered to the dealer. The Mazda 30mm springs will be the first mod I think.
Really enjoyed reading this thread from start to finish. Love what you have done to your car and amazed at how great it looks when cleaned and polished. Hoping the weather is good for you this weekend to get out for a drive
