Gas flowed cylinder head

Good morning all, I have a query regarding the BBR Super 200 conversion. My 2017, 2.0 litre RF is going over to Brackley this Thursday for this to be done and I’m looking for some more information.
I have read in a number of reviews that by having the cylinder head gas flowed the peak bhp can be lifted to 225, I can’t however find out what it does to the more important torque figure. I don’t know if there would be any benefit in having the extra work done and I am therefore looking for opinion. Many thanks, have a great driving day.

What do BBR suggest ? I’m guessing you’ve run it by them…?

I will speak to them on Thursday, I was just wondering if anyone on the forum had any experience of having it done.

There’s quite a lot on here about BBR if you search for it.

Unless you go turbo, I would think the torque opportunity is limited. The extra power comes largely from operating up to a higher rpm limit.

I should say I’m no expert on engine-tuning, nor do I intend getting any done but I have avidly read the threads on here.

Asking BBR about ported cylinder heads would be like asking Quickfit to build you a race car.

Having spoken at length to the man who gas flows the heads for BBR and seen the quality of his work i would have no qualms in getting the work done. How much extra torque is produced i cant say.

Thank you for the informed reply, much appreciated.

Re the MK4 head
Yes you can port and gain small power but be very careful as the ski activity engines rely on scavenging so if not done correctly will be worse for it……
