Gear knob recommendations

I have the Jass Performance “Type R” in my ND and its great!

I came across a YouTube video today, a guy in the states doing a bit of a vlog about his NC, the mods he had done and plans to do in the future.
One mod he had done was to swap the gear knob for one out of an ND, stating that the figment is the same across all Miata’s… so why wouldn’t you…!
I’m sure I read somewhere, maybe on here, that that isn’t the case, and I wouldn’t expect there to be a difference between US and UK models…
Anyone know for sure if this is or isn’t possible…?

A couple of gear knobs on mx5parts fit NC and ND models, I believe they are a straight screw on type too.

The ND knob is a straight replacement. I found one on fleabay…
Love it, looks and feels really good.

I’d like to do something similar on my NA, but it is an automatic, I can find levers very cheaply on eBay, but nothing that will allow the hold function. Short of fitting the hold button remotely to my steering wheel I cannot think of anything that will work ergonomically.

Are they a direct screw on or use a type of grub screw fixing method?

They are direct screw on but if I remember they give you some pieces of rubber that you can put inside the gear knob for a tighter fit not had any problems with mine great fit and great price

Team Voodoo for the NC ; great feel ,direct screw on and short throw…

Jass Performance for the NA ; direct scrw on, same great feel and short throw but prefer the Voodoo knob

I have the Voodoo knob and can confirm that the short throw gives a really direct feel.

Tried a few on my NDs. The OE one is actually really good. I then tried a Cravenspeed, now trying a Nardi.

I went with the satin ball on mx5 parts website…
Its simple but elegant.

I have the Jass Performance Sports style. Perfect in my eyes and adds some extra weight to the change. I’ve no issue with it being plain with no gear markers on it, as I know where each gear is

The gearknob thread is the same, NA to ND so feel free to pick and choose! I used my Jass one on my NA and it was fitted to my NC2 for it’s first drive home.
