Hi folks. Just replacing the gearbox front oil seal and gasket and was wondering if there is any mileage in replacing the two seals behind the front oil seal cover???not even sure what they do. See pic.

Fyi. There was quite a lot of oil seeping out of the manifold into the bell housing before strip down. Would that more likely to have come from a leaking front seal?
Those are integral parts of the ‘sealed’ bearings. You can’t change those seals without replacing the whole bearing. Leave well alone.
Cheers Richard. Duly noted!
The front oil seal is a swine to get out, paranoid about scratching surfaces after my crank shaft gaff! Any tips?

The “seals” pictured are part of the bearings. Do not touch them unless you are rebuilding the gearbox!
You have the cover off just push the seal out of the cover and push the new one in, clean the sealing surfaces, fit new gasket and torque up the bolts.
The Gearbox input shaft seal does not usually fail but it is good prractice to replace it while the gearbox is out, a little money saves a lot of work. If you had oil contamination on the clutch this would be the common cause, if not then sort the manifold leak out you mentioned.
I would also replace the crankshaft seal if the flywheel is coming off.
Thanks for that info. Rear crank oil seal is on the list now I have installed a Speedi Sleeve on the crank end after scratching it like a total clown.
When I took off the clutch bell housing the insides were filthy with what i can assume was the entire original clutch material. Immediately below the gearbox front oil seal manifold there was a good amount of greasy, dusty, horrible ooze. (technical!) I am guessing that the manifold gasket must have been weeping and the oil had mixed with the crazy amount of clutch dust in the area.

Nice… not a white T shirt job.
