Anybody who can advise how often one should check and replace the gearbox/transmission oil on a 2000MY 1800cc NB (manual box)?
My 5 has done 76,000 miles and the gearchange seems fine, but I have no service records to show if the gearbox oil has ever been replaced.
Any views/recommendations would be much appreciated.
Just do both it both may have been in there 17 years.
No maybe or well do you think so, just change both fluids.
You will find the service intervals in your handbook.
I’d go down the peace of mind route. I’ve just changed my diff oil and immenently going to change my gearbox oil. The diff oil was pretty fresh but it was cheap enough to change!
