Getting tow bar electrics fitted ....... to an NC?

I’ve just recently got a boot mounted bike rack for my NC MX5, however the one issue is that the rear lights are obscured by the bike wheels, light bars are cheap but i have no idea how i’d go about fitting tow bar electrics to an NC, i know the NC has canbus so it becomes a royal pain the ■■■ as you can’t just splice some wires off. Has anyone ever done anything like this and if so does anyone have any advice.

Not sure about fitting tow bar electrics but on the NC Exterior lighting is all hard wired, not on a CANBUS system.

That seems to be good news, as it likely means an auto electrician can just piggyback off the existing wiring and install a 7 pin socket in the empty space by the jack slot.
