As of 1st October, GK Group will close their Mazda car showroom at Penistone Road, Sheffield due to a recent sale of the dealership. GK Group will cover any requirements for new Mazda vehicles from our new and much better facilities based at Mansfield which will offer an improved customer experience with their dedicated Mazda showrooms together with a full range of Mazda demonstrators and factory-trained sales and after-sales personnel.
Additionally, Mazda service, warranty and repairs will still be offered at our premises in Barker Lane, Chesterfield, Turner Road, Worksop and Southwell Road West, Mansfield, along with accident repairs and Mazda Used Car sales at all three sites, so nothing changes there. In light of sale of Sheffield, we are delighted to offer you 20% off your next Mazda service to be used at either three sites; we will also provide courtesy cars to make the transition easier for yourselves. (Please don’t forget to take the voucher with you!).

Yes, this caused me to have to consider going to Mansfield or Barnsley for parts today
I spoke to Mazda UK, as they still show GK Sheffield on their website, and they said they would be altering their site, but anticipated there would be “another South Yorkshire franchise in due course”. So I guess we watch this space!

My experience of Mazda Barnsley is that they have very little stock and even less respect for customers, even though it was further away I preferred to use Sheffield,
Very true on those MX5Parts, Moss & Manners. However GK used to give me a good discount and didn’t seem to mind ordering the “odd bits” that the independents don’t stock or can’t get. If their staff have transferred to Mansfield or Barnsley then I’ll tolerate the travel, but I guess they are now working for Hyundai!
If you look at ‘the small print’ under Mr Kennings name you will see that he lists the services that they provide at each site, Barker Lane, Chesterfield is now service, (with a parts dept) only
Having said that, I do nt think they would turn a sales enquiry away, probably a rep from Mansfield would take it over.
I am not sure what is happening at Worksop, last time I came past the sign had Mazda, with ‘service’ under it, I understand the main dealership is Kia.
Just following up on an earlier comment, I always found David in the parts department at Sheffield very helpful, something rare on trade counters now-a-days.

I do know what discounts regular users or trade account holders have enjoyed on parts in the past, I have just been informed that Andrew / George Kenning (who are behind the group) have authorised a 10% discount to MX-5 Club members, upon production of a membership card.
Parts are available from Chesterfield as well as Mansfield.
