Go Perform Exhaust and MOT

Hi there,  Mot is due soon and the usual anxiety is creeping in,  first time with a decat sports exhaust by Go perform.  Anyone else got one and had any issues with the MOT, or am I just worrying over nothing as the Manifold cat is plenty.

Oh its on a 2011 mk3

thanks

I read this this morning.

Some intersting results.

By the looks of things, the car was well inside the emmisions.

I’ve removed the manifold cat on my NC 2.0 Sport and replaced the second cat with a Goodwin Racing sports cat. I was concerned at MOT time like you are, but I’m glad to say it sailed through. I’m pretty sure you won’t have a problem.

MIne passes without the manifold cat and a cat underneath, but you have to get it hot

Thanks for the replies guys. Puts my mind at rest. Hopefully gets through. It’s in on Wednesday

Hi how did the mot go got same set up as you, but with remap, mot due June cheers

My 2 litre Sport has the 180bhp conversion done by Roddisons Motorsport,

4-2-1 manifold, 200 cell cat, Cobra Big Back Box (King Cobra) re-mapped by

Autotronix.  Car has since passed 2 MOTs. As advised by both Paul & Clive get it

really hot.  I explained this necessity to my MOT guy who fully understood

matters.

I am sure the Go Perform system will pass, just get it really hot.

Part of the mot is a visual inspection of the cat so if it’s missing it should be an instant fail but it depends on the mot station out of the 3 near me only one will pass a decated car the other 2 fail it straight away regardless of its emissions passing or not

surely if you still have 1 of the 2 cats your ok?

Hi I was really worried but had no problems, see my post that I put on a few months ago;

Cheers

Passed MOT

Sorry to piggyback this but I’ve got the 4 to 1 manifold as well as the centre & back box, so no cat at all. If I replace the 2nd cat, will this be sufficient to pass an mot, I’m thinking a 200 cell stainless cat by the way.

BBR Sports centre pipe with 200 cell cat passed fine a month ago; just make sure it’s nice and hot…
