The wife and I are driving the MX5 down to Cheddar from Fleetwood for 7 nights camping next week. Can anyone advise on any roads, routes or places of interest in the area for us? Cheers
How long do you need to take? You need to look at routes through the English /Welsh border. A49 or if more time push further into Wales.

As a suggestion (I live in Cheshire, work near Fleetwood, love driving and walking in Shropshire, and frequently visit the SW…) invest a tenner in the book Biker’s Britain. Works with MX5s too…

the roads around cheddar are ok - id be inclined to head into wales and the brecon beacons though -
you can always do the a39 i think it is , towards minehead. costal road

Cheddar gorge at night combined with Burrington coombe. Day time A346 Langford to Marks bury.
A little further afield the A39 Bridgewater to Barnstaple (at Lynton cut through the Valley of Rocks).
The best Cider is from Ben Crossmans near Weston-S-M on the A370.

Thanks for that. We’ve decided to jump on the A49 just south of Warrington and carry on to the end. We’ll just wing it from there on.
