GOOF OFF !!

Hi all.

I went to use my go to remover of everything. Disaster !! The plastic cap had sptit and the contents had evaporated. I brought a few cans over from the States when rules were rather more lax

Does anyone know of a UK. source of GOOF OFF (not the spray version) at a reasonable price. Amazon can supply it at an eye watering price…£26 …or so including carriage.

There MUST be somewhere cheaper. It is a brilliant remover but not at that price.

Regards JohnDuggan.

p.s. STILL looking for a decent Niseko wheel at a reasonable price

Loads on e-bay.

EVO-STICK Adhesive Cleaner and it is available from the likes of B&Q

I assume you mean goof off. As I stated in my post all up cost of £30 is a rip off. Third item down on e-bay is £10 for 16 oz can and £20 postage… YOU do the maths !

Looks like it’s not available as a UK retail item.  After doing web searches the only suppliers I can find are in the USA, hence the hefty p&p charges. Oh dear!  Very dear!

Forgot to add i use brake and clutch cleaner, it melts glue away very easily and is a brilliant degreaser.

I’m sure this won’t be for everyone but WD40 has always been my go to for softening and removing glue residue from items attached with double sided tape etc. Number plate tape, all the mx5 chrome plastic stuff (internal and external) all manner of stuff  and not expensive at all. Not an instant thing, takes a bit of elbow grease but does the job.

Is this any good?

What’s wrong with white spirit, dirt cheap always my favourite to remove stubborn gooey sticky stuff?

Hi John - this post made me laugh. I brought over a big bottle of goof off from america too, as I also loved that product. Mine also leaked and evaporated !

I tried the Goo Gone and it worked almost as well as goof off. Not nearly as good but it did remove some high-tack badge residue from car paint with a bit of elbow grease.

lighter fluid is my go to cleaner (petrol not butane), or the wife’s nail polish remover (Acetone based)

I use two products, both work extremely well.

I use this to remove tar

And this works brilliant on sticky adhesive.
