Hi, I have just purchased from MX5 Parts a new set of Greenstuff front pads for my 97 Eunos 1.8. My question is do I need to fit backing plates to these? They seem to have some sort of soft rubbery stuff glued on to them where the plates would go. The Mazda pads which I have just removed have steel plates already in that area so I didn’t bother with backing plates for those but I’m not sure about these new ones, is that rubbery stuff strong enough without fitting backing plates, has anyone any experience of these pads.
