I’ve decided to change my front brake pads - currently running Ferodo but having a knock of the pads when applying the brakes which I can only trace to the pads moving within the carrier.
Seeing as MX5 parts have free delivery this weekend I thought I’d order some new pads but don’t know whether to get the cheaper EBC Ultimax pads or go for the Greenstuff pads which are over twice the price!
I’ve got Greenstuff pads on the back of my Eunos & must admit that I haven’t really noticed the difference, not that I think I would by better pads on the back.
Thanks for the info - these were the one’s I was considering. They are a lot cheaper than the Greenstuff pads & I’m wondering if there will be that much difference in performance. I wouldn’t say that I drive the car particularly hard, however I don’t really want pads which give off huge amounts of dust as I have BBS wheels & they are a nightmare to clean!!
I’ve done a bit of research & some people like EBC pads & others hate them, then you have others who say they like greenstuff / redstuff / yellowstuff etc. It’s a bit confusing really & I don’t know if I am going to see any difference by going for the Greenstuff pads. I’m also planning on replacing the discs so will probablly see an improvement in braking anyway.
I have the greenstuff pads with BBS wheels and can advise they are a nightmare to keep clean. I was dissapointed at the amount of dust which comes off them. Will be looking at different ones when these wear out.
My brakes had a knock or click when I first got it and it seemed the calipers had been renewed shortly before but that a necessary spring, which prevents the pads moving, had been left out.
