I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Liqui Moli Gummipflege
In case it helps anyone…
I had what I thought was a door rattle. Occured when roof was down and window up. Lowering the window improved things.
Turns out I think it was stiction between the top leading edge of the glass and the rubber seal it contacts when up. Application of the gummipflege to the rubber there (and elsewhere in general on rubber seals) seems to have improved things.
Hi John, my MX5 RF is the same month and year as yours.
Rather than a rattle, I get a wind noise from the top of the glass on the drivers door at speeds over 40 mph.
I’ve checked the seals and glass travel and the dealer says there is no fault.
Not sure what to do next.
Just used mine on all the PRHT roof rubber. The applicator is good for laying the liquid down but best to have a 1/4” paintbrush to get into the nooks & crannies. It’s very thin liquid so a tiny £9 bottle will actaually go a very long way. As it says on the bottle let it dry properly.
I can now say it doesn’t make any difference in my case. In fact, coincidentally the roof creaks and pops have got worse. I did tighten the roof mech one turn at the same time so think I’ll back that off.
I’ve never used it on my ND(except a bit on the inner bonnet seals) as it pretty much lives under a half cover and the rubbers/trim look like new.
I’ve used it on other cars though, and I find it’s great on the doors. I’ve one car which gets ice boxed due to where it sits, and opening the doors even when in that state is just like opening them on a summer’s day, with fairly regular door seal applications (say 2-3 X a year)
