Halfords--Eurocarparts

Just collected a Pagid wheel cylinder from Halfords that I ordered yesterday and it has a Eurocarparts sticker on it. Are they the same company or is that just where they source things from?

It’s not important but just curious.

I had dealings with Partco many years ago, both as an employee and at a garage franchise where they had the contract to supply parts.

Where Partco didn’t have the item in stock they would source it from another motor factor.

Think they all did it to some extent.

It has been mention on the forum before that Halfords spare parts had come from Eurocarparts.

I too have bought from both parties.

The manager at my local Halfords told me that they get parts from Euro Car Parts

Often they are cheaper at Halfords

Always check both!!

Halfords are never cheaper than Euro Car parts. Most motor factors/suppliers are more expensive than Euro Car parts.I buy lot stuff and have checked dozens of times.Euro are selling at near the equivelent cost to most motor factors /suppliers, yes near cost .Euro are huge and get mega discount

Therefore the poster on here who have phoned europarts in the past and have got a higher price quote from europarts and purchased the part from Halfords with a europarts identifier are either lying or plain wrong!

Interesting, as I was in Halfords last night for a tin of wax (another story), and spotted a EuroCarParts item on the checkout desk.

I assume awaiting a collection from a customer.

I bought replacement discs from Halfords at about £4 cheaper last year!!

Mk2.5

Pagid Front disc   Halfords £46.06   Euro £49.99

Pagid Front Pads  Halfords £24.58   Euro £30.49

Pagid front pads for NC £35.74 from eurocarparts on weekend discount. Halfords are £34.93 . Last week I got them from eurocarparts and they sent me the wrong ones. Got the correct ones from Halfords the next day. Both use the same stock photo that includes the shims but you do not get the shims. Like everything else you have to shop around and beware of the discounts

Don’t forget to factor in the 10% OC discount at Halfrauds.

Carparts4less with weekend discount 31.38

Here in Ireland ,Halfrauds are rip off and I mean rip off.I got 2 standard h7 bulbs, nothing special and they wanted 15e for pair.Euro carp arts 2.80e each at trade price as they know me well.Mk1 cooling rad in local motor factors (I know them 25 odd years- 92euro incl vat.Euro 72e incl vat. 20 euro cheaper.Same brand TYC Japan

I use my local independent motor factor for most of the stuff I buy because they give me a very good discount on most items, making them cheaper than Euro Carp farts.
My local Halfords staff still need maths lessons - twice now they have been unable to work out what 10% is!

But I got my best bargain of the century when I bought out their remaining stocks of rubber coolant hose. They sold me twenty metres each of three different diameters for a grand total of £4.50! It should see my lifetime out…

I bought a set of Eicher rear brake pads a couple of weeks ago, Halfords wanted £17.82 + £3.99 delivery, no trade card discount but would have got OC discount of 10% so £20.03 in total.

Car Parts 4 Less same Eicher Pads 20% flash sale so £13.15 inc p&p.

Some you win some you loose.

Halfords not always cheaper but I really like my local branch - very knowledgeable and very helpful. They recently were happy to replace a faulty Sony stereo without quibble when it was 6 months out of warranty. Yes they often cannot calculate the 10% discount but otherwise I cannot fault them. Europarts good value but very disorganised where I am and often get the wrong part! I think the 10% discount at Halfords is an excellent deal which applies on sale items as well and it has saved me a lot of money so thanks to whoever negotiated this one.

Cheers

Matt
