Handbrake warning light on after new audio fitted

Having a new complete audio system fitted. Head unit, speakers, reverse camera.
Problem: The handbrake dash warning light stays on when car is in neutral or forward gear, but goes out when reverse gear selected. Whilst in reverse gear, the handbrake warning light does go on and off as expected when you operate the handbrake. The installers cannot fathom it out, so I am rather concerned. They disconnected the new rear camera as a check but problem persists.

Have you checked the fluid reservoir? Could be low, just by coincidence.

The relatively extensive installation included a number of active units that require triggers to power on correctly. The complicated mix of original mazda wiring looms and that of the new components resulted in triggering conflicts from competing power line sources. Once those conflicts were located, the issues were resolved.
