Handfree bluetooth upgrade

3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: _Bluetooth handsfree installation. Any recommendations on what kit to get would be appreciated. Don’t want to go for the touch screen option. just handsfree and bluetooth music

I’m currently using a Bluetooth adapter via aux

USB Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Transmitter Receiver Adapter for TV PC Car AUX Speaker...

Simple way to stream music via the aux. Works well with my phone. Siri works well - I have hands free calls via the steering wheel buttons and Bose system, but this adapter would do it nicely.

Cheap as, and saves the cables hanging around

Does need a usb point - which easily done using the 12v cigarette lighter point and a USB adapter.

Take a look at my build thread. I did this recently using 12v powered USB BT dongle, Integrated AUX and MagSafe phone holder.

Virtually seamless and no FM transmitter type woes.

Thought while I was at it I’d fit the AUX BT solution I’d come up with. AUX cable fitted to the back of the OEM stereo with a female AUX end, then plugged in a male AUX cable with dash port to that and drilled a hole next to the 12v port. Finally I plugged in a short AUX BT powered USB dongle to talk to my phone. iPhone is mounted via MagSafe holder wired to the second USB port with cabling routed and hidden. Selected AUX on the head unit and all seems to work well. Slight buzzing but I think …

Thanks SimonS, I’ll have to pull the head unit out to connect to the Aux at the rear, but i’ll give it some consideration.TBA.

Thanks Inkeys, I’ll check out your build diary to see how you did it. I saw a vid on youtube for GTA car kits bluetooth hands free kit. looks pretty good but it would be coming from America so I’m hesitant.
