Hard top roof clamp creaking

I have an NC Sport Tech with a folding hard top.

Lately i’ve had a creaking noise coming from the clamp you use to lock the roof into place. It happens when you go over the slightest bump, which is very annoying.

I’ve tried spraying WD40 on it without any improvement. The clamp looks OK. I know it’s caused by body flex but the steering wheel seems to be rock solid.

Before having the chassis checked of breakages, is there anything i should try to grease/oil/tighten?

Actually, i think i’ve fixed it by spraying WD40 on the inside of the clamp mechanism. Before i just sprayed the bit where it clamps onto the top of the windscreen.

I don’t know why i didn’t spray the clamp itself the first time? Duhhh!
