i have just bought a Mazda mx5 in razor blue, but iwould like to get a hardtop. It’s a 2005 reg , but a 2003 build according to the Mazda dealer I phoned which makes it a mk2. I think that a mk1 or mk2 hardtop would fit, but not a mk3? I have seen a mk2.5 hard top for sale, which has confused me now! Will that fit before I spend £££? thanks for any help - also will I need to buy a fixing kit separately ?
The same hardtop will fit MK1, MK2 and MK2.5.
Nick and Jane are right. Mk1,2 &2.5 all share the same hardtop fasteners. The mk3 swapped from two latches on either end of the a pillar to one large one in the centre, hence a mk3 hardtop will only fit a mk3,3.5 or 3.75.
