When I ever used redex type treatments I have always chunked more that you should, 4/5 times too much & I am sure there are plently of there people out there do to! So I cannot see the redex causing any harm
But I could see it dislodging some crap from a dirty fuel system & partially blocking your fuel sytem
I’ve accepted the doc’s kind offer of a house visit; if it turns out to be a basic blockage, I’ll go about this unblocking business with my usual blend of heavy right foot and extreme coolness.

If there is a suspicion of a stuck valve, you could try a compression test to prove/disprove.
Mine did somnething similar a month or 2 back after some Redex but not as severe as yours sounds, just struggled a bit low down the revs. I suspect it was pure coincidence
However, I gave it a few tune ups ‘Italian style’ and cleaned the throttle body and either they both worked or just one of them did, as it now smoooooth! 
Got new plugs and leads from Autolink; typically awesome next day service. All ready for my appointment with ‘the Doc’.
