I used an Eezybleed once and once is the way it’s going to stay! It all went horribly wrong and I ended up with brake fluid all over the engine bay of my TR6. Luckily there was a hose pipe nearby so I managed to wash it off before any damage was done to the paint but not before the air was filled with naughty words.
I bought a rip off of Easybleed for less than a tenner. Just araldite the bits together and you can use more than the recommended 20psi and things work quicker. As mentioned a great bit of kit to do your bleeding on your own.
See my reply above, It is safe to use it as long as you do not fill it with fluid and just use it as a pressure vessel.
This is a case of live and learn.
Thank you all for the advice and assistance. You guys make the owning experience of this lovely car a real joy.
To be honest, this car is the second easiest car to work on in all my years of tinkering with cars. I’ve owned Japanese, German and French cars.
The best car to work on was the 1979 Toyota Corolla. My dad had it, then my brother and then I drove it until it gave out with rust and after the second engine failed.
I’m discovering that the MX5 designers and the engineers has really put some thought into making it easy to service, repair and upgrade.
My wife asked me the other day “Are you sure you bought the right car?”, after seeing me under the car again. I told her I’m having fun and it is DEFINITELY the right car for me.
