11.00 pm, as my wife went passed the front door, she noticed a bright light outside and told me that I had left the dipped headlights on… Very strange as I had only been out in the early afternoon and hadn’t used the lights but anyway, unlocked the car and found…they were switched off!!! The only way to turn them off was taking out the fuses, one for each side. Put them back in this morning, lights came on, fiddled with the switch…nothing, took out one switch and both went out, put fuse back in and both remained off and switch now works as it should. What on earth is going on, and can anyone help.

Water leak? Have you any wet carpets?
Hmmm, nothing, now as I’m clearing the drain quite regularly after having a flood about 18 months ago. Although it was raining pretty hard yesterday, but no sign of any water ingress anywhere.
Virtually guaranteed to be scuttle gromets with water ingress in the passenger side footwell. Have you ever done the gromets?

no, never seen them. Thanks Malc, I’ll give it a go…
I agree with Mad Malc, There is a “how2” in the member downloads that is worth a read when you tackle the grommets. Meanwhile check the passenger floor at the front for moisture, look up behind the glovebox, this is where the water enters from the left grommet. Take the lid off the kick panel fuse box and check for signs of water.
