Hi guys . . . Still no joy on my headlight problem. No dip beam on my 1991 Mk1. Mot in two weeks so would really appreciate some help.
Firstly where are you , as you may be able to get local help. Secondly have you checked fuses or the light switch on the stalk ? Have you got power at lights when switched on ? Try these then let us know, don’t forget to add your location.
Could be the headlamp connection is melted.Common problem.Its the 3 pin plug at rear of actual headlamp bulb itself.1 pin usually melts and can also blow the fuse if it shorts out. Have you checked the bulb itself(may be sealed beam unit so full lamp would need to be replaced but they are cheap enough)
Hi. I have checked all the earth I can find, also power to lights, have side lights and main beam but no dip. The headlights are not sealed beam but have been replaced with new units to try and solve the problem as they were very rusty, also new bulbs. I have just purchased another stalk unit as I think now it could be the switch so fingers crossed. I’m based in Mansfield Woodhouse, north Notts. Many thanks.
