Always found that the dipped lights on the car were a little lacking so thinking of upgrading to more brightness.

Yep fitted them, and the main beam ones, a few months ago after a mate had them on his previous 5 bought them again for his latest car.
They are certainly an improvement over the standard bulbs. I don’t feel they are as good as the percentage suggests they are, which has perhaps clouded my opinion as to whether I would recommend them or not.
If I bought another Mk3 would I fit them? They are cheapish and an improvement so yes I guess I would. Just don’t expect too much…

I find that due to the car being so low to the ground that you do not get the advantage that your have in a large 4x4 where you are looking down on a beam that itself is comong from lights that are at a higher level than the MX5.
In the MX5 you are to an extent looking along the top of the headlamp beam and it is more difficult to pick stuff out in the dark like pot holes that are easy to see from a higher position.
