After 8weeks hibernation I started the car last night and noticed that the heater blower is now only working at the max setting.
Any ideas?

Sorry, never got a reply on this one. Car still in hibernation and fan control still not working. I assume it might be the switch is knackered but I’ve not had time to investigate.

Soon after buying my Mk 2 I found that the lowest fan setting was not working and after a little investigation found out about the resistor pack which is a doddle to fix. On the Mk 2 the glove box easily comes out and you can see the heater blower, on the underside of which you can see the resistor pack, two screws and cable plug ins and its free. I saw the price new of one on MX 5 parts and decided to see if I could do better. I found a complete heater blower unit, from a Mk 1 incidentally, on E bay and got it for a fiver. I contacted the seller to ensure all speeds were working and he assured me that they were before I bid. When it arrived it was a simple job to change it over, now all I have to do is find a home for a blower with a resistor pack that blows on all speeds but 1!
