Hi I have just joined the forum and am new to all this, although I have had my 1991 Mazda Mx-5 for nearly two years, I thought it was about time to make the most of it. My friends belong to a 2CV and beetle owners club and they have alot of fun, so thought I would find a club for my car.
I haven’t signed up for membership yet because I wanted to find out what clubs are in my area first and find out what sort of events people get involved in.
I live in Leigh on sea in Essex, and would love to hear from anyone on this forum who wouldn’t mind giving me some pointers.
This page will give you an idea of the club areas, and give links to the areas website/forum etc. Don’t necesserily trust the upcoming events link from that page though - it is usually empty, which no area ever is!
Thanks for that I tried that website earlier and their website is under construction at the moment, but I will keep trying. What area is your club in and what sort of events have you attended? Thanks for your response.
I’m in Central Scotland, and to be perfectly honest, I’ve never done more than look at their forum [:$]
I’ve only been a club member since ~Mid September, and quite simply haven’t found the time to get along.
However, there is always plenty of stuff going on in all of the regions, CS in particular.
Typically there is quite a good variety of social and car based events, which means if you want to have a bit of casual chat you can go to a pub meet on a Thursday, but if you want to tyre kick, or drive, then there are runs and tech days as well. Of course, you can do both, or even try to arrange something a bit different (such as go karting).
I’ll hopefully get along to something soon, but being a student, I’m working weekends, so I miss most of the runs and what not that would interest me. (Bizarrely I’m a student that does not drink)
Hello again,
Yes I am a student too so understand the limits that can pose on finances and petrol! Don’t tend to drink much myself either. Wow go karting sounds fab and I bet you have some amazing views in Scotland, I went skiing near Aberfeldy a few years ago.
How is the studying going?
