Hello from Kettering, Northants

Hello everyone!

Just purchased this 1999 Mk2 (which I believe is referred to as an NB) yesterday and absolutely love it. We’ve been a one car family since forever so when the option to buy this off one of the school dad’s we couldn’t resist.

I plan to tinker with it and get it back to as close to original as possible over our ownership. It’s been resprayed, had the rear arches replaced/welded and is mechanically sound. Just bits and pieces of interior etc. need replacing, mending or cleaning.

Looking forward to digging around for advice from everyone on here.

Cheers!

Welcome from 2005 Mk2.5 NB ‘orange’ owner in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs

Commend you on ‘getting it back to as close to original as possible’ but hopefully not change the colour as I think it’s kinda cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Hello Red and Kez. Welcome.

I’m partial to that colour on an MX-5 and like the black hard top too.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new ride.
In the meantime, store that hardtop and enjoy as much topdownery as you’re able.

Cheers,
Guy

I had just the same MX-5 around 12 years ago! Looks amazing in real life, I remember blacking out the alloys (a cheap garage which I later regret)
I also remember which I preferred hard top or soft top haha :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: great find :ok_hand:

Love the colour, good contrast with the black roof, wheels and mirrors.

Cheers everyone!

Not entirely how stock the black wheels and smokey black indicator repeaters are?

The chap I bought it off is a body repairer and has resprayed it the original orange, but has added a tiny bit of red metallic to the clear coat which makes it almost glow in the flesh.
