Finally got around to joining. Was going to do so before Covid, but the car got put under covers for a couple of years and has only just got back on the road. The inactivity has caused a few problems, ut we are getting them sorted one by one. Fairly low mileage for an 09 plate but will need a cambelt change soon. My husband is semi-retired and I gave up work a while back. We are intending to fit in some road trips in the MXer but they will be interspersed with trips in our caravan pulled by a ML250 Merc
Looking forward to swapping stories and asking advice as part of our membership.

Welcome, plenty of advice and help here
First off, you mention an 09 plate MX-5, that usually goes with it being an an NC of 2009 flavour if so then good news, it hasn’t got a cambelt to change. The NC engines are chain driven so kept oiled regularly give very little trouble.
We’ve also just got round to joining the MX5OC, after having had our 09 NC for eight years! We’ve absolutely loved the joy of getting out on the country roads around The Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy the drive!
Thanks for the reply! Our membership fee has already been saved from one piece of advice
We do indeed have 2009 MX5 and as such don’t need a cambelt change.
The next job is to restore the headlamp lens as they are discoloured - Autoglym seems to be the most recommended kit to do this, but any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again

Thanks for the reply!
The best thing about our MiniBeast is that as it’s a two seater, the grandkids can’t ask to join us on a trip It means that we get some ‘us time’

I had a similar discolouring on the headlight lens and cleaned it with Brasso! The advice to do this, together with alternative solutions, is available on the forum.
Welcome to the club and hope you enjoy some road trips in your MX5 and your welcome to come on some of our drives with NEM Area.
Regards David
Thanks - we will have a look at the dates of the meet ups
