I’ve recently bought a 2007 2.0 MX-5 NC1 with metal folding top.
It’s a bit of a project, I bought it from a workmate’s wife who had not used it since 2016 although it had been started, very occasionally, in that time
The garage it was in was reasonably dry and the car was very dusty. It has a damaged front bumper and a few minor dents but the paint is in good condition and has polished up well.
So far I have changed the oil and filter, got the remote keyfob working (just a battery), MoT’ed it (went straight through, no advisories), reattached the nearside sideskirt with some new clips, flushed the brake and clutch fluid and jetwashed the underbody and applied a good coating of lanoguard. So hopefully will be a good base to work from, there’s plenty that could be done but I think it’s pretty useable as-is and am going to use it and see if any issues crop up. I’ve bought another key shell (with blank key) and had that cut, then I transferred the blade to a second hand key off ebay. I used Forscan to program it, couldn’t believe how easy it was. The unlock / lock buttons dont work but not too bothered as it’s only a spare key, I’ll post in another area about that.

Welcome sasquartch, if you see a loon in a ridiculously adorned NBFL (Mk2 facelift) waving that will be me based near Watford.
Hope you enjoy your project, mine turned into a six year fight againt rust project hence the paintwork.
