Hello from sunny Orpington

Hello from a total MX5 newbie.
Decided to chop in my n/a TypeR and although I went to the dealer for a totally different car, the MX-5 (25th anniversary) was sitting there begging for attention. I thought at first it must be a new one, with the folding hard-top and the deep colour. How wrong was I - 10 year old beauty was budget-friendly.
I had them show me how the roof operates, impressed by the simplicity and reliability (10 years later still running like clockwork, unlike other fancy makes I’ve seen)
Took it for a test drive, aircon working, everything really working perfectly bought it there and then.
They kept harping about ‘25th anniversary edition’ as if it meant anything to me - probably a plaque and a colour variant, big deal.
Did some research afterwards and realised that if I had to choose, that would have been the one I’d go for anyway, what with the LSD, the bilsteins and wotnot.

The fun started at the petrol station, where I was sitting like a muppet looking for the lever to release the petrol cap. Such fun. Luckily the owner’s manual was in the glovebox and all was well.

Got lots of questions coming up, already ordered Haynes manual in print, have watched some enthusiast videos

Welcome along to the club.

Try to get some pictures uploaded for us to take a look at.

There’s a wealth of knowledge on this forum , ask away and someone will have the answer :+1:

They are cute, I admit…

Hello and welcome from the occasionally sunny North.

Good choice of car, looks great.

I have not been a member of the OC for very long myself so I am just getting to grips with how it all works, but whether you are a purist or like to update and personalise, there is a lot of help and encouragement available.

Enjoy.

I thought Orpington was only home to Honda CRV’s?
(If you know, you know)

Next door neighbour had a CRV actually…
