I have an MX5 NC in grey with silver 16" wheels. I’m getting new calipers and want to give them a nice color. But I can’t decide! I want a bit of contrast but I don’t want to go too crazy in case I ever come to sell it. And lastly, my colors might at some point in the future change color to bronze so it should look good with that color on my wheels. There is a poll at the end of my post. The colors I selected (planning on using Foliatec 2 component paint):
Color and wheels of my car:
Prestige gold:
Performance yellow:
Vintage copper:
- Prestige gold
- Performance Yellow
- Vintage copper
- Power green
- Any shade of blue
- Different: please post your pick!
I’d go blue…grey with blue is a really good contrast without being too shouty.

I thought about it but I’m afraid it won’t contrast that much with my body paint as it has (to my eyes) a slightly blue-ish look
Check out Msport BMWs, nice big blue brakes. Not shouty yellow or red.
if you have silver wheels I’d go for the red personally.
I think pink would be nice
BMW’s of lately are absolutely not an example of good taste to me
But, I have been imagening blue calipers behind bronze wheels. That might be a really good match.
Red is so common
I usually like to take the not-most-common option. But I understand what you’re saying.
If I would not take into account any future problems with selling the car then I might have chosen purple
The color will be performance yellow
3rd in this poll. Last week I saw a Giulia Quadrifogilo in a comparable chassis color with yellow calipers and I liked it. Something like this":
