Help needed Speed camera alert

Took possession of my new prime line today (June 2025 model), stunning in Aero Grey with Black trim.
My old MX5 prime line( 2023) was programmed to warn me verbally about approaching speed cameras, with a well spoken lady. I’m having trouble doing the same with the brand new MX5 which has the larger screen. Can anyone help please and provide instructions.

Have you looked in the navigation manual? Page109 mentions them…

Hi Robbie,

Have’nt a clue what all that coding means, but thanks

It’s a link to the navigation Owner’s Manual…

I do have a feeling that speed camera warnings won’t work on your new car though.

Had a look in the manual, does’nt go into detail. But thanks again.

SUCCESS!!! After much fiddling and trying with my tech savvy daughter, it works!!!
Approached the usual speed camera this morning and the “lady with the posh voice spoke and warned me of the oncoming camera”.
This 2025 prime line model is so much different than my previous 2023 model. Apart from the Navigation and Communication upgrade to the Rear parking sensors, Chrome scuff plates and nicely finished and softer seats. The Aero Grey and black trim is stunning. Very pleased indeed.
Need to adjust to the warning ping noises, but hay-ho.

Didn’t know verbal speed warnings are a built in feature on MX5s. I use Waze, which does this. Any details on how you enabled this please?

Hi Chris, Yeh, used it on my 23 plate Prime Line, which was easy to do trawling through various settings, I think in Navigation. Think I just highlighted the relevant bit (speed)with the big knob and this then takes you further in for turning on the speed warnings and for volume.
This new 25 Prime Line is a different animal as far as the Communication system. Again just a question of going through Settings, sure it was in Navigation . I found that once you bring up a setting then clicking on takes you further in.
Afraid i’m a Technophobe, with the help of my daughter we just kept logically trying the obvious links eg: Speed. I managed to increase the volume of the notifications (lady speaking) and miraculously when I approached the usual speed camera this morning it warned me.
Sorry I’m so vague, but maybe just have a play. It’s a useful tool and can also warn you when you are over the speed limit. Good luck.

All ND MX-5 except the non-nav models (principally the SE) will give warning of exceeding the limit and also fixed speed cameras in its database. On ND1 visual alerts are on the navigation app, on the ND2 they are within the instrument binnacle. I’ll have to photograph the menu option when in the car, but it’s fairly easy to find.

On my ND3 the speed limit sign in the instrument binnacle flashes when I exceed the speed limit, but I’ve never had a voice telling me this, I only here a beep/ding.

The voice is for speed cameras. The ND3 will do it as I had it enabled on a CX-5 courtesy vehicle with the same infotainment.
