HELP! Wheel Painting in Suffolk Norfolk Essex

Hi.

I have had some SSR type C imported from japan. They are forged and require a re paint.

Being forged they should not be powder coated with the repeated heat cycles changing the metalurgy and leading to fractures (which the powder coat then hides)

Its a thing , it would seem, nobody is the powder coating business understands or accepts. Seems when all you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail……. So i need the wheels chemical stripped and/or light media blast to remove old paint. No repairs necessary . Then wet painted and cured at low temps (spray booth temps not oven temps).

Any places in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex area anybody can trust? Appreciate your help.

I take it you’ve tried the usual suspects aka wheelcare in BSE etc.?

I’m in Ixworth, not far from Sudbury. Be good to meet up some day.

Yes i am hoping to be out and about for some meets.

I spoke to wheelcare. They said it didnt matter they were forged. I disagree. Shame as they do a good job.

I joined Norfolk fives as the Bury meet seems to have merged with kings lynn which is too far for me

The Bury meet hasn’t merged with Kings Lynn, the Bury meet became unsupported and so no longer exists.

I’m going to have a chat with WheelCare this week about re-furnishing my standard ND wheels, as I’m in Bury St Edmunds. Will let you know how it goes
