Hi all, 08 NC 2.0 sport. Had a small aquaplane today on the dual carage way, can anyone offer some advice on how to buff this out?
On a serious note, stay safe. Luckily walked away with nothing more than what seems to be bruised ribs (right side).

T cut and a microfibre cloth should sort it but be careful not to apply too much pressure incase you dull the finish.
Looks scary, glad to hear your ok
Yikes!
That looks nasty.
Glad to hear your injuries are relatively minor but very sorry to see the state of your car.
I hope you heal quickly and your insurance company are fair with your settlement.
Cheers,
Guy
Strewth!
Glad you’re okay, looks like the safety systems have done their job.
damn… dude, sorry to see that. glad you got way with it.
Mx5parts for touch-up pen
Looks like you had a lucky escape
Thank you all for your kind words. Im still wrapping my head around it.
Apparently its a common spot for people to aquaplane. Was in the right hand lane doing 65-70, saw water, straightened up, tried to gently reduce speed. Hit the water and instantly started veering across the left lane into the barrier, bounced off and was struck by another car, ended up back in the right hand lane.
I’m feeling very, very lucky. I think this was the best outcome all things considered. Luckily no one was seriously harmed. I cannot fault the car, only had her for 6 months/6k miles, but she put a smile on my face and kept me safe!
She has done a brilliant job of looking after you, give her a kiss and hug from me.
How did you manage to walk away from that!!! Nasty, but cannot recommend any treatment for this damage other than looking at the adverts in “Soft Top, Hardtop” magazine for a suitable successor…
glad that you are ok!
lets be honest,
people tend to knock the nc for being fat etc but when it comes to an accident I would rather be in my NC than a NA or NB.
i think that you where extreamly lucky to walk away with only a few bruises and it speaks well of the NC.
anyway glad you are ok man!
on a lighter note!
i can see that your having the seatbelt retraction issue there!
Glad you are alright.
The exhaust looks fine…
Yep and No Corrosion Issues Either
So…Gotta Be a Candidate for a Rockeeteer Rebuild

Jeez…
You were well protected.
Good to know that all the safety features worked on a 14 year old NCđź‘Ť
Luckily escape.
Out of interest what tyres, pressures and condition were you running on?
I feel for you having lost your car, but it could have been worse indeed.
Fingers crossed you find a suitable successor to your NC.
Wow, glad all is OK. I would ignore the scratch and just take photos from the other side. No one will notice…
Crikey. Glad you’re ok.
Yikes!!! Glad you’re ok! Hope the bruises fade fast and that you spot another NC for a good bargain in time for summer!!
Like everyone else, I have to say that it looks like she did a great job in the crash - all that deformation and loss of parts must have significantly reduced the forces that you experienced in the cockpit even before you get to all the safety equipment. Fair play little Mazda! RIP.
Ouch.
I aquaplaned on the A30 near Launceston a year or so ago - so scary.
I was luckier than you though.
I didn’t touch the brakes, kept the steering straight and it gripped again before it hit the central barrier.
We passed several cars that were less lucky…
Must have been terrifying to hit the barrier and then get struck by another car.
So glad you walked away from it.
As said, the MX5 died saving you.
